Trough much is made of the plantation home of the Missisippi Delta, this regoin of rich alluvial soul is not the only site of the plantation mansions, nor is it the only source of the state's architectural and historical intrest. Coastal Mississippi bears diverse cultrual influences from Spanish, French, and British rule, just as the heartland does from the Chickasaw, Creek, and Choctaw's historic occupation.
This architectural tour of eastern Mississippi is also filled with political history, including many Civil War sites. Text by Jim Frasier and Photography by Rick Guy.
